Every year, we kick off the start of school with our 'meet the teacher' event, our Ice Cream Social! Come to Jefferson to meet your teacher, see your child's class and drop off school supplies. Then join us on the front lawn for ice cream and reconnecting with our Jefferson families after our fun filled summers!
Join us for the first PTA meeting of the year and welcome back breakfast for attendees! Held on the first day of school every year at 8:30 am in the Multi-Purpose room, this is a great way to get engaged with the PTA!
Join us for the Annual Jefferson Fun Run at Wild Trace Meadows!
All students, family, and staff members are invited! All families will receive a race packet, including t-shirts for the run. The event kicks off with some fun warm-ups and music. Don't like to run? Walk your way around the path, volunteer to help set up, pass out water or be on course safety patrol.
Is your child interested in science? Our annual Science Olympiad is one of Jefferson’s favorite events all year. Whether you’re a new student or a returning Einstein, this year’s event won’t disappoint. The sign up forms will be accepted online and will be posted soon! In order for this year’s event to be successful, we are in need of parent volunteers. The Science Olympiad is a great way to get involved!
The Halloween Parade is a wonderful Jefferson tradition! Students should wear their costumes to school and bring a change of clothes with them. Please do not send your child to school with scary masks, plastic weapons or anything that would be inappropriate for elementary students. The students will be getting changed immediately following the parade, so please do not have them come in with sprayed hair or make-up that would be difficult to take off. The parade begins promptly at 8:30am and students will come out and proceed down Poplar and turn right on Niagara and then right onto Linden Ave and return into school. Please do not have dogs on the route, as we want to ensure all students feel safe.
Parents are invited to stay around to see our wonderful Jefferson teachers do a Halloween performance.
This is an event unique to Jefferson - an entire Thanksgiving meal is served to student and teachers by an army of PTA volunteers! Food is provided by York Food Services. Look out for opportunities to volunteer.
The Giving Tree is a wonderful Jefferson tradition that gives students a chance to help families in need during the holidays. Each student is encouraged to donate a gift card to help make the holidays special for each family.
After all the children have placed their donation, there is a special program given by all grades. The Giving Tree program is held in December.
Calling all Jefferson Families! Please join us for the annual Jefferson Ice Skating Party at the Elmhurst YMCA. Everyone attending will need to fill out a visitor waiver. More information closer to the event.
The Social Committee plans and organizes numerous funs events and social options throughout the year to bring Jefferson families together outside of school hours. Jefferson is not just an excellent school, but an amazing community. We have a variety of activities in the works for this year. A little “something for everyone!” Charitable offerings, family-friendly theater excursions, shopping events, parent’s night out are only a few. Please check back often and join us at these events!
