Jefferson Family Newsletter~September 17, 2021
Michelle Guerino

Dear Jefferson Families,

This week we kicked off our new Tiger Buddies program at Jefferson.  All of our students got to meet the group of students they will be meeting with twice a month to strengthen our Jefferson community and work on a variety of SEL related goals such as perseverance, kindness and collaboration.  It was a fun event outside that included a get to know you game and a dance to “We are Family” led by our very own TJ the Tiger!  We truly are one big family at Jefferson and look forward to the positive outcomes that this new program will bring to our staff and students.  The next Tiger Buddy meeting will be on September 27th.

Have a great weekend!

Returning from Quarantine

In order to return from quarantine a letter must be provided by the IDPH and shared with Nurse Colette.  (  We will then contact you to let you know that you can return to school.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Pop-it Fidgets

Pop-it fidgets are currently very popular and can be helpful for students in helping them to focus.  We have noticed that there are other times that they can be more of a distraction or toy.  If you send a pop-it to school with your child, please talk to them about appropriate use.  Staff will be sending him pop-its if students are using them inappropriately.

Forward Together Plan

Throughout this pandemic, the health and safety of Elmhurst District 205 students and staff remain our highest priority. Elmhurst School District 205 has developed a comprehensive plan aligned to local, state and federal guidance. The Forward Together Plan for 2021-22 offers some frequently asked questions about the reopening of our schools, the District’s health and safety protocols; sanitation and ventilation mitigations and a Dashboard that presents COVID-19 metrics. As health information and related procedures change, we will continue to review and update the plan, as well as continue to monitor local health and safety metrics. If you have additional questions, please email
