Weekly Weber Update

December 18, 2017

Dear Jefferson Families,
A huge thank you to Mr. Mitchell and Mrs. Lukritz for their time and dedication in making the Giving Tree Assembly a wonderful success. Thank you to Mrs. Pretzie and the PTA for organizing the donations. The children sang beautifully and were a joy to see on stage. Thank you to the Jefferson families for your donations to help support families in Elmhurst as well as some of our own Jefferson families. This is an amazing community and the generosity and kindness of all is truly astonishing.

Congratulations to Elias Tamer, Niki Thakar and Novi Thakar for their entries in the PTA Reflections contest. Their entries will be moving on to the DuPage East District level!
Our holiday parties will be on Friday, December 22 from 1:45-2:45pm. We will allow parent volunteers to come into the classrooms at 1:30 to set up. Please remember there is to be no food at the parties. Thank you to Mrs. Feutz, the room parent chairperson, as well as all of the volunteers who are planning and preparing some great party activities!

Please make sure that you send your child with all of the wonderful things that keep them warm like hats, gloves, scarves and warm coats. The students will line up outside in the morning and have recess this winter as long as it remains above zero! Students may only play in the snow if they have snow pants and boots.

Winter and inclement weather is fast approaching. Please remember that on days where it is snowing heavily, raining or below zero temperatures, children will be allowed to come inside beginning at8:00am. Both Door 1 and Door 2 in the front of the building will be open to let children enter. Please pull down as far as you can on Crescent to let your children out, this will allow less congestion on the road. Please also remember that children should always exit the vehicle on the passenger side as to not get out when oncoming traffic is approaching. Your cooperation in ensuring student safety is greatly appreciated.

5Essentials Survey
Students, teachers and parents across Illinois have the opportunity to participate in the fourth annual statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey will allow you and your child (in grades 4 through 12) to share thoughts on important elements of school effectiveness at your child’s school. It asks students about their experiences in school and parents about their experiences with your child’s school, giving school leaders critical student input to help develop school improvement plans.

Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child. Teachers or administrators will never see individual responses to survey questions and will only receive aggregated information, such as the total percentage of students who agree homework assignments help them learn the course material. The parent survey takes about 10 minutes. To take the parent survey please visit  and select the appropriate survey to begin. A link is also provided on the Elmhurst D205 website. Please take a few moments to participate.
