I hope you had a wonderful weekend! It is hard to believe Thanksgiving is right around the corner! We have a busy week ahead of us! Thank you to the PTA for scheduling Gordon Korman, an amazing children’s author, for our third, fourth and fifth graders this week. I am so excited to meet him as well! Our annual Thanksgiving Feast will beThursday. This is a wonderful tradition that I look forward to each year. On Friday, students will receive their Student Progress Reports to bring home, so be on the lookout!

Thanksgiving Feast
Our Thanksgiving Feast is Thursday, November 16th. Students will eat lunch together from 11:00am-12:00pm in the gym. Thank you to the PTA for sponsoring this wonderful event. The number of volunteers, time and efforts are amazing and make this a memorable event for all. Our fifth and fourth grade students will eat with their buddies and our second grade students will be dressed as Pilgrims to celebrate this Thanksgiving Feast. Please know that if your child will not eat turkey and the trimmings, they may bring their own lunch.

Dual Language in D205
Elmhurst D205 is committed to providing the best possible education for ALL students. We are excited to begin our journey into dual language programming in the district! Our first ever dual language program will begin next school year 2018-2019 at Conrad Fischer Elementary School. We have convened a dual language committee comprised of a variety of stakeholders to explore details and possible future programming. The goal of dual language programs is for students to become bilingual, biliterate and bicultural. We look forward to providing this opportunity for Elmhurst students!
