What is a MakerSpace?

Our MakerSpace is a destination for students to practice the 4 Cs: Creating, Collaborating, Communicating, and Critical Thinking with a focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).  It is located in the Jefferson Library and is a part of Jefferson's library lessons.

What materials are available for students to use in the MakerSpace?

Materials are organized into three different skills, each with unique materials:

Coding
Ozobot
Robot Mouse
Code-a-pillar

Engineering
LEGOs
Keva Blocks
Keva Contraptions
Magna-Tiles
K'Nex

Creating/STEM Challenges
Pipe Cleaners
Cups
Craft Sticks
Masking Tape
Craft String
Straws

Last spring, the libraries in D205, including Jefferson Library, received a 2017 D205 Thiems Grant to purchase MakerSpace materials.  Below are some of those materials.
