Illinois Book Awards

All nominated books for the Illinois Book Awards below are selected by a committee of librarians and teachers from all over Illinois sponsored by the Illinois School Library Media Association.  The winners each year are chosen by the children of Illinois.

 

Monarch Book Award (K-3)

2018 Monarch Book Award Nominees 

Children are eligible to vote if they read or hear (read-aloud & audio books are OK) a minimum of 5 books from the list. We will be sharing titles during library lessons throughout the year, so all K-3 students will vote in February.  

Bluestem Book Award (3-5)

Children are eligible to vote if they read or hear (read-alouds or audio books) a minimum of 4 books from the list. Voting for our favorite title will take place in February.

Caudill Book Award (4-8)

2017 Winner at Jefferson Library was The War That Saved My Life by Kimberly Bradley (The winner for the entire state of Illinois was The Crossover by Kwame Alexander )
