Dear Jefferson Families,
What a magnificent school year we have had! Each day I am very thankful that I am part of such a wonderful learning community. The past two years have flown by and I know I have learned so much from the staff and students that have made me a better person and I continue to learn each day.

I  look at the fifth grade students who are getting ready to move on to their next journey and see how much they have grown in the past two years that I have known them. I am very proud of them and know they will always be a part of the Jefferson community. Good luck to you all!

We have celebrated Mrs. Perkins, Mrs. Zelek and Mrs. Vaillancourt these last few weeks of school as they will be continuing their journey as well. These amazing teachers will be missed and we are incredibly lucky that they have shared their passion and talents with us at Jefferson.

Thank you for another amazing year of learning, laughter and fun. I wish you all a fantastic summer and hope that you take time to enjoy family and friends.

Field Day Lunch Change
In order to provide the maximum time for students to participate in the field day activities, we are adjusting our lunch schedule for Thursday, May 26th. Lunch and recess will be from 11:05-12:05 for all grade levels. Grades 1,2, and 3 will eat lunch from 11:05 to 11:35 and then have recess from 11:35-12:05. Grades 4 and 5 will have recess first and then eat lunch from 11:35 -12:05. If it rains, there will be a modified indoor field day schedule.

Summer Send Off
On the last day of school, we would like to have a Summer Send Off! We are asking that all parents wait in the back of the school on the blacktop area at dismissal, as the students will be walking out of the building by the 2nd/3rd grade doors and lining up to clap for each other as we celebrate sending the students off for summer. We will have classes come out by grade level and the fifth grade will come out of the building last and walk through all the previous grade levels. After the send off, teachers will bring students to their normal dismissal doors. We will begin the Summer Send Off at 11:00am and it will conclude at 11:15am.

Change in Posing of Class Lists

Due to privacy and security concerns, District 205 elementary schools will no longer be posting the traditional class lists on the front door of the school in August. Instead, parents will receive a secure email document informing them of each of their child(ren)'s placement for 2016-17. For families that do not have email, a first-class letter will be mailed to the home address on file providing this information.

Box Tops
Last call for Box Tops this year!  So far this year we have raised $710 by collecting box tops off of many purchased house hold items.  Our goal is $1,000!  Box Tops do expire.  If you have any at home that are expiring soon please send them in.  You can print and adhere them to a Box Tops form or simply send them cut-out in a bag to school.  Thanks for your support with our Box Tops program this year!

Lost and Found
This is our last call for any items that are in our lost and found box! Please take a moment to stop by and check the lost and found. There are several items from gloves, mittens, boots and water bottles that are in the lost and found. Any clothing items left over will be washed and sent to Schoola as part of donated clothing.
