JEFFERSON TIGER FEST

(formerly Winter Carnival)

Date: Saturday, March 2, 2019

The kids love this (fundraising) event! They have a blast playing carnival games throughout the school and turning in their prize tickets for super cool stuff. In alternate years, the committee holds a silent auction for parents. Chairs coordinate volunteers to manage games, food, decorations, prizes, and setup/tear down.

What is Tiger Fest?

This is a PTA sponsored event for the whole family, our biggest fundraiser of the year!  Not just your Jefferson Student!  There are over 20+ carnival games, a Money Machine (new this year), Face Painters, Balloon twister, Tiger Bucks, Class Art, Food, Raffles, Prizes and lots of fun!

What is the price of admission?  You have two options…

  1. Purchase your wristbands in advance of the event or at the event.  Order forms are going out the week of Feb 4th.  Advanced purchase of the wristbands is $15 by Feb 22nd, and $20 at the door.  The wristband allows children unlimited access to games (except Money Machine).  All kids playing the games will need a wristband.  Please make your checks payable to Jefferson PTA and put Tiger Fest on the outside of the envelope.  The wristbands will be available for pick up the day of Tiger Fest.
  2. Tickets. You may purchase game tickets the day of Tiger Fest.  They are $0.50 per ticket.

***All kids not paying for games with tickets must wear a wristband***

What is the charge for adults to attend the carnival?

There is no charge for adult chaperones.

What is not covered with the wristband

Money Machine (new this year), Tiger Bucks, Food, Class Art and Raffles.

What’s Tiger Bucks?

Feeling lucky?  Pull a rolled up Tiger Buck from the bucket to win a prize!  Each try is $1.  See question about helping by donating to Tiger Bucks – gift cards, cash, and prizes!  Nothing is too big or too small! Cash only game.

What is the Class Basket Raffle?

Each class is being asked to gather items to place in a basket for our Raffle, which means there will be over 15 baskets brimming with goodies, toys, sports themes, fitness packages, and local treats. If you can, please donate towards your class basket.  You can contact your room parent for details.

What is a Carnival Game and can you win prizes?

There are over 20+ Carnival games – including an all-time favorite of SillyShower.  Each player wins a ticket – either a “thanks for playing” or a “winner” ticket.  Tickets can be turned in for prizes in the Prize Room!  All new prizes this year too!

Any ideas for dinner after Tiger Fest?

Yep.  Our Dad's Club is working on this for us.  Stay tuned!

Are the games the same?

Some new ones this year - Quarterback Challenge, Double Pop-A-Shot, Baseball Radar Speed Pitch, Moonshot.  Some of the same.  But look for your favorites (Tiger Bucks)!

How do I buy Raffle Tickets?

You can buy Raffle Tickets at Tiger Fest or via the pre-sale offer.  They are $1 per ticket.  You use these for the Teacher Raffle and Class Basket Raffle.

How can I help?

There is a lot of work that goes into planning, setting up, running, and breaking down this event.  Parents from every classroom are needed to work at least one carnival game or prize room or food booth for 30 minutes.  If you have time to spare, please choose a time slot (or two, or more) by clicking the following link:

https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0d44aead2aa2fd0-winter3

How do I sign up to work a time slot?

Look in an upcoming Tiger Beat email for the link.  Volunteering at the Tiger Fest is a fun and rewarding experience. Middle school and high school students that need community service hours, we will supply you the opportunity!

What is the Teacher’s Raffle?

The Teacher’s Raffle is a raffle held the day of the carnival where a student has a unique opportunity to win some special time with their favorite teacher. Teachers choose an event to be raffled off (cookies after school, special lunch together, etc.). It can be an individual or a group event. The Teacher’s Raffle is always fun, creates special memories for the students and at the same time, raises money for our school.

How much money should I bring to Tiger Fest?

Bring cash, your checkbook or your credit card (we don’t take IOUs).  You will need money for the Money Machine, day-of game tickets (if you don’t opt for the wristband), Raffle Tickets, Food and Tiger Bucks!  You will also need to pay for your Class Art & Experience Party buy-in!

Is there food?

We will have affordably-priced, delicious carnival fare! Cash Only.

What's the Class Art?

Our talented Class Art committee is working with each class to create unique pieces of art for you to bid on!  Remember - bid early and bid often for this one of a kind class memento!

What’s an Experience Party?
