The Organized Child: Building Executive Function Presentation - Homework creating family stress? Time management is a challenge for your student? Organizational issues getting in the way of your child being successful? To learn more about strategies to help your child, the REACH PTA is hosting an ALL District 205 Executive Function Parent Presentation with guest speaker Dr. Georgia Bozeday, Ed.D. This presentation will provide parents with practical strategies from the field of Executive Functions to help guide students at home, and will focus on recent findings related to media use and learning. Discussion will include strategies for organization and time-management. Dr. Bozeday, is the Director of Educational Services at Rush Neurobehavioral Center (RNBC) and Adjunct Professor at Northeastern Illinois University, and has extensive experience in education, speech language pathology, learning disabilities and gifted education. Dr. Bozeday currently manages the Executive Function projects and is instrumental in curriculum design and implementation of the RNBC Executive Functions programs. This program will focus on strategies for Intermediate and Middle School students (4th– 8th grade). A second program will be held in January and will focus on strategies for Elementary students (K-3rd grade). Please join us Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 6:30-8:30 pm in the Sandburg Auditorium. All District 205 parents welcome! This presentation made possible through a District 205 Foundation Grant.

Author Gordan Korman - Gordon Korman met with Jefferson Elementary students in grades 3 through 5 on November 16th. After an interesting presentation focused on finding creativity when you are out of ideas and building interesting and complex characters, some students met Mr. Korman in the library. More than 60 students had an opportunity to briefly speak with Mr. Korman, and have their books signed. Additionally the PTA donated 20 signed books to the library and classroom teachers. Thank you to Mr.s Wright for all of her help in coordinating this event.

If your child would like to purchase a signed Gordan Korman book, we have a few copies available. Please contact Ioana Fernandez at
